Hi everybody! So how are you doing today? Hope all is fine. We are again with good news! One more innovation – everything for your comfort and convenience! Our new feature is called Add to my account. You may say – “It’s not new! It is possible to add files to my account; I’ve seen Add to my account button on the download pages of the files. So what is new with it?” Well…From now you can add entire folder to your account with all subfolders and files. Adding a folder by only one click is now possible. What should be done for activating this feature? To activate it, the owner of the folder should simply click on the icon Settings in the top right corner of his account and tick “Allow others to add my files to their accounts”. This option will activate both adding separate files and entire folders. After these easy steps you will be able to add folders of other users to your own account simply clicking on the button Add to my account on the toolbar of any shared folder. Announcing a new feature - WebDav

We are glad to announce our new feature – WebDav. It is a convenient way to store and retrieve files between your computer and your 4shared account. WebDav is an easy way to directly access online files without the need to use the web browser interface. It allows you to treat your 4shared account like a regular folder on Windows Explorer similar to My Documents on a PC. Collaborating WebDav and 4shared allows you to drag/drop, cut-n-paste files between your PC and your 4shared account, and directly edit files on your account from your Desktop! Your data is even more secure now!

We are glad to announce that we have added SSL encryption feature to enable secure file transfer, communications and interactions for 4shared premium members. 128-bit SSL encryption approach we have introduced recently meets the highest standard in the Internet security industry for Web site authentication. Specifically, SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is the standard protocol for data transfer security. It sets an encrypted link between 4shared server and your browser. Once the link is established all communication between 4shared server and your browser will remain confidential. To take advantage of this new 4shared feature, please log into your 4shared account, go to the ‘Settings’ page and select the ‘Secure SSL data transfer’ checkbox.

Another new tool on 4shared :: Mp3 playlists

If you love music and would like to listen to your favorite songs while browsing 4shared pages, we have really great news for you! Now you can create an unlimited number of music playlists, listen to them online and share them with others. This new feature lets you generate a playlist to listen to all audio files from a shared folder online. As you get to an audio file download page, take a look at the right area next to the number of downloads. In case the folder is shared you will be able to see the ‘Play all mp3s from the folder’ option there. Just click on it to enjoy beautiful music our new feature. Announcing a new tool on 4shared

We are delighted to announce the launch of a new tool on 4shared! A lot of folks have been reaching out and asking if we can add Slideshow to the features set for photo sharing. And here we are - the tool has already been implemented on 4shared! It is very easy to use feature to generate a slideshow and view all images from a shared folder. As you get to an image download page, take a look at the top right area next to the image. In case the folder is shared, you can see the shared folder name, ‘Next’ and ‘Previous’ images in the folder as well as ‘View Album’ and ‘Slideshow’ links. Click ‘Slideshow’ to try out the new functionality and let us know if you like it. By the way, there’s lots more great content - take your time to explore 4shared and enjoy it!

4shared Alexa ranking progressing nicely!

We are proud to announce that 4shared has entered Alexa top 100 ranking. To be more exact, it has been three months since 4shared entered top 100 and there is no doubt that we are headed in the right direction. 4shared is growing very quickly and getting more than 2 million users daily!

New 4shared Desktop

Yippee! We did it! We are happy to announce that our brand-new application is up and running. It encapsulates many useful features available with most popular download managers as well as your ideas as to how to improve 4shared. It was designed to be as user-friendly and intuitive as possible. It also includes a nice set of new features and settings added to the prominent 4shared Uploader functionality. You will like it for sure.

Our high-quality new Desktop application is for BOTH uploads and downloads. Premium users can enjoy downloading multiple files and folders from their virtual drives simultaneously. Downloads are performed through split parts (multi-threading) now and, if necessary, can be resumed.

The number of downloads which can be added to Desktop is not limited at all for premium users. You can download simultaneously several files (the number depends on the settings you applied) and the others are in “queued” mode till current downloads are completed.

We have also created a toolbar that will give you instant access to 4shared Desktop, 4shared home page and your personal 4shared account. We’ve loaded in a handful of our favorite goodies, like some useful gadgets, weather forecast and an email notifier. It is Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox compatible. Go install it and then let us know if you have any suggestions for gadgets you’d like us to add to it.

Our hope is that you will be so impressed by the powerful functionality presented to you that you will tell everyone about it. Thanks to all those who gave suggestions. News Drops

We keep on improving 4shared in order to maintain the best possible performance. We added a few new features last night and would like to keep you updated.

First, we decided to separate some settings which previously could be found on ‘My account’ page. If you click the ‘My Account’ icon now, you will be able to view your account general info, statistics, affiliate program details and upgrade your account. All other settings and preferences for your account from now on are to be adjusted on ‘Settings’ page. To change your preferences for password, themes, comments and public profile, please click the ‘Settings’ icon on your account toolbar.

Second, we added new ‘Subdomains’ tab to ‘Settings’ page. On this tab you can easily figure out how many subdomains you currently use and folders names where to subdomains are assigned. This is especially useful for our premium users now when 100 subdomain names are availabe with our new ‘Premium’ subscription. We are confident that you will be delightfully surprised when you see our latest innovations as to the feature. And of course we are sure this is another reason for our free users to consider upgrading their account to ‘Premium’.
