This autumn still hides loads of exciting surprises for both Free and Premium 4shared users and it’s about time to reveal a few more of them. To start with, the upgrades concern available sharing options that now become really advanced. In particular, you will be able to apply the updated social media sharing feature to invite certain friends of yours to access the file or folder, stored at your account.
It’ll be virtually simple to invite and further share photos, music, documents, etc. with your Facebook friends, for instance. There’s will no longer be a necessity to make the file 100% public, as you only need to click the “Share” button and invite people from the suggested FB friend list, you wish to share the file with. That’s it.
As long as you want to block the access to the file to people, you’ve previously shared it with, it won’t take more, than a few simple steps either. Open the “Share” menu, click on the “Cross” near this person’s name and save the changes.
Another substantial upgrade at your 4shared accounts is linked to the view modes of your folders and files. In this respect, both the “List” and “Thumbnail” view options are acquiring cutting-edge design, which you will, surely, find much more convenient as well, as it’s gotten easier to grasp and, certainly, much more stylish.

Some of us, for basic security reasons , are not and never will be Facebook participants. Now, this share feature , if it allowed us to simply create our own share list here, might be of use, but as long as it is tied to FB it is simply more garbage to slow things down.

I am not now and never will be a Facebook or twitter user.
The only feature I really use from this service besides the obvious one, storing files, has been removed. A process that used to be a click of a button in an Excel spreadsheet now takes me 30 to 45 minutes to do manually.
If you want to make this user happy return the Views download count to the directory listing available via an excel web query. I now have to sign in and select each directory and copy those values manually to get at the information.

4shared USED TO BE a good and user friendly service, but with new changes every week it is unfortunate but those changes are for the worse. Where is bulk embed codes for entire directory gone? now I have to do it one file at a time and it takes half an hour.

i like those new things and all…. but, there’s things that require some improvement.
like, for example, on every new updates, it’s harder and harder to find the number of downloads.
also, the stars rating would be cool to have it back(it’s a refer to the people that gone download a file).

the idea of “only registered people can download” should be removed from your minds….
(more priviledges, like, people not registered need to wait more time to download looks good enough to me).
hope you guys read this carefully.

I have been a user of 4shared since 2006.
My file download counts number over 87,000 Views/downloads. That is an average 194 downloads a day lately. That represents traffic from my site to 4shared.
I use only 440 meg of the 15 Gig allotted for the 60+ pages of my web sites. I can move all my pictures to a yahoo Group or the TogetherWeServed sites but I was using 4shared for the download counts specifically. First the viewed counts were removed, only the download counts were available. Next the download counts went away if you weren’t logged, no longer via an excel web query, in now they are gone completely.
This service no longer has the users in mind. I do not use and never will use Facebook or twitter. 4shared has seen fit to sacrifice the functionality of the service provided to all users in favor of those who use these other services.
That is to bad. I will begin my migration away from 4shared as I assume others will also.

Lost my download counts, and the list takes to much realestate. Please provide ‘classic view’ option for those of us that are not interested in facebook sharing.

Hola, deseo plantearles lo siguiente, yo baje e instale este programa y no lo he podido usar, ya que cada vez que encuentro un archivo y me piden correo y clave no me aceptan uno de los dos; tengo varios correos y he tratado de entrar con todos y no he podido y tengo varios archivos para descargar esperando una clave de ustedes o la oportunidad de cambiar la mia y no recibo respuesta. Les agradeceria que me respondieran el correo y me expliquen como puedo hacer porque tengo mucho interes en bajar dichos archivos.

I like it to know how many downloads I have, I haven’t seen that feature for weeks now…my one reason for putting my digi’s here so I can see how many times they are downloaded.I may as well put them straight on my blog. Of course, there could be a button to make this happen but I can’t find it.
I don’t want to link to face book, so many forums etc want your comment or anything else to link to face book.

I’m not sure if I missed something but when you write to the support dept, shouldn’t they reply? As a subscriber since 2007, I can’t help but to feel like something is wrong. I am having serious problems with videos not showing up after uploading them and now after 100 uploads there are no embed codes either. Does anybody have a clue what is going on here? Thanks.

@str8but I am having the same problems for the past week as there is no embed codes will show after I upload any mp4/flv video. All I get is “Preview for this video is not yet available.” This is not good

I just want to know only one little thing:
WHY CAN NOT UPLOAD FILES BIGGER THAN 1MB?!
Maybe I am a free user and not a premium but it is not hilarious at all. Tried more than a dozen times with different files (no, the problem is not my connection, it is more than sure!) but always dies the upload around 10-11%.
So what should I do?

I think that its a little strange that you say in the search bar This Song You Can Download!!! and then when you click it on they don’t have the song… its annoying and strange why wast time off something you really can’t download. But sorry I’m also getting annoying to you 4shared I’m sorry besides the things I’ve disliked in this letter your a great site!!! I love your other site even more skull.mp3 THANKS 4SHARED
